35TH EFA ANNUAL MEETING


The Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus cooperates with the European Finance Association to organise the 2008 European Finance Association Conference (EFA). EFA is considered to be the major European Conference and attracts top academics from Europe and U.S. The latest developements in all fields of finance are presented.

35TH EFA ANNUAL MEETING, 27-30 August 2008, Athens, Greece

The European Finance Association will hold its 35th Annual Meeting in Athens (Vouliagmeni), Greece, August 27-30, 2008.

You are invited to submit papers to be considered for presentation at the EFA 2008 meetings. Papers from all areas of finance will be considered. All submitted papers will be double blind-refereed. They will also be evaluated for inclusion in the sessions by the assigned Track Chairs, designated by area of expertise. The chosen Track Chairs are scholars with substantial editorial and/or refereeing experience for top finance journals. They will play the role of “Editors” and assist the Program Chair in putting together the academic program of the meetings. The current setting aims to ensure a superior quality academic program in all areas of finance to be represented in the conference.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

Submissions are now open and must be made through the following URL:

The deadline for paper submissions is March 4th 2008. As in previous years, there will be a one-day workshop for doctoral students on August 27th 2008.

The conference will also include a Symposium on Endowment and Philanthropic Institutions Asset Management. See:

Professor Elroy Dimson will be the coordinator for the Symposium’s academic program. All papers submitted to the conference will automatically be considered for the Symposium.

The Keynote Speaker of the 2008 EFA Annual Meeting is Professor Myron Scholes, 1997 Nobel Laureate in Economics.
