Emmanuel Tsiritakis

Overview

Dr. Tsiritakis has studied economics at the University of Athens, BA (1979) and at Virginia Tech, MA (1983) and Ph.D. (1988). He has taught at Virginia Tech Economics Department while working on his doctoral degree, at Mississippi State University Department of Finance and Economics as an Assistant Professor (1986-1992) and later as a tenured Associate Professor(1992-1994) and at the University of Piraeus Department of Banking and Finance, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor of Corporate Finance.


Research

Dr. Tsiritakis has teaching and research interests in the areas of Corporate Finance, Capital Markets and Financial Institutions. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate level courses and supervises masters and doctoral students.

His research has been published in academic journals including the Journal of Applied Business Research, The Journal of Economics and Finance, The Cyprus Review , The Journal of Financial and Strategic Decision Making, Managerial Finance and Applied Financial Economics and in the CEPR working paper series. He has presented his work in major academic conferences. His latest research paper on dividend announcements has been presented at the European Financial Management Conference in Vienna, June 2007.
