Rethinking Economic Theory (RET) International Workshop will be held in Nafplio, Greece 31 May - 2 June 2023.
We are pleased to invite distinguished academics, policymakers, and practitioners to the workshop that aspires to develop a comprehensive intellectual framework to address the challenges of economic theorists in an evolving economic landscape.
The workshop aims to discuss the state-of-the-art of economic theory and welcomes innovative ideas to address the challenges posed by
1) the recovery from the global financial crisis that the Greek economy and other South European countries suffered in the last decade. The aftermath of the global financial crisis, together with the energy crisis and the surging inflation worldwide, shapes up an environment of economic and financial uncertainty;
2) the new technological advancements (particularly the internet/social media and big data analytics) bring information dissemination in real and financial markets to unprecedented levels;
3) the climate change and the associated adverse economic impact, as well as the prevailing role of Central Banks in environmental regulation.
The workshop welcomes contributions in economic theory and game theory, with applications to financial markets, microfoundations of macroeconomics, mathematical institutional economics, public economics, general equilibrium aspects of asset pricing, auction theory, and mechanism design.
In addition to the regular academic sessions, the program will include panel discussions and invited presentations. The goals of these special sessions are to enhance the exchange of ideas between academics and to provide a forum for discussion of special topics for conference participants.
