The Green Finance and Banking Laboratory of the Department of Banking and Financial management of the University of Piraeus was established in 2015 as the Green Banking Laboratory and renamed into Green Finance and Banking Laboratory in 2022 to better reflect the breadth of the research and practical topics related to sustainability finance covered by the Lab.

The Laboratory takes a comprehensive approach about sustainability issues, encompassing all relevant benefits for society, the environment, businesses, banks and the economy as a whole. It also aims to bring the academic community into closer contact with businesses, banks, and State institutions. Finally, its purpose is to contribute to the international recognition of the Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus by promoting research undertaken by its faculty members and doctoral students on sustainability issues.

Therefore, I am very happy to work in support of the purposes of the Green Finance and Banking Laboratory to advance sustainable development in finance, financial management and reporting.
