The mission of the Laboratory is to promote basic and applied research in Corporate Finance and Financial Markets, as well as to improve the education provided at undergraduate and postgraduate level of the relevant disciplines as they apply today in the light of Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability (CSR/ESG) concepts, while at the same time to disseminate this knowledge to the business community through collaborations with companies of the Private and Public Sector.
Innovative research on the vast area of corporate finance including special topics issues such as corporate valuation, M&As, shareholder activism, corporate governance, e.tc. under the CSR and ESG modern perspectives.
Undertaking and executing applied research programmes in collaboration with companies from the private and public sector aiming to attract funds and scholarships.
Improvement of the education techniques via the use of specialized software (e.g. Stata), computerized databases (e.g. LSEG/Refinitiv), e.tc.) for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as business executives in relation with the above topics.
Involvement of students of all levels in research projects, participations in student competitions (e.g. the CFA Challenge Annual Competition), organizing related conferences and events with the assistance of the Students’ Finance Club of the University of Piraeus.
A lab engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability drives ethical innovation, environmental responsibility, and social impact.
Collaborations with foreign academic institutions and scholars from abroad in related fields.
