Dear prospective students and interested parties,
The Postgraduate Program “Financial Management of Public Organizations and Units” is the only state-recognized postgraduate program in Greece with a focus on the Financial Management of the wider public sector. The structure of the curriculum in terms of the individual subjects covered, the material covered by each course, the teaching methods chosen (mainly distance), and the scheduling of lectures are the result of (a) the great experience and strong scientific background of the participating academic staff, (b) the knowledge of the functions, needs and future requirements of the public sector, and (c) the extensive experience of the entire personnel of the Department of Financial and Banking Management in the organization and operation of Postgraduate Programs.
Upon completion of their studies in the MSc “Financial Management of Public Organizations and Units”, the graduates will be properly prepared to cover
- the requirements for maximum efficiency in the Financial Management of the Public Sector,
- the needs arising from the forthcoming implementation of new legal frameworks, an
- the requirements for optimal use of the possibilities of finding resources for the implementation of development and public projects.
At the same time, they will meet both the substantive and formal requirements for advancement to positions of responsibility of financial departments, relevant sectors (accounting, procurement, etc.) and bodies in the wider public sector, such as ministries, the General Accounting Office of the State, the Court of Audit, the Independent Authority of Public Revenue and the Tax Offices, the Local Government (municipalities and regions), Public hospitals, Higher Education Institutions (sectors of finance, Special Accounts for Research Funds), etc.
In an environment of continuous pursuit of excellence, the teaching and executive staff of the Department of Financial and Banking Management is always next to the student, aiming at his advancement through the utilization of all his capabilities.
