M.Sc. in Financial Management of Public Organizations and Units

| General Information

The MSc in Financial Management of Public Organizations and Units is the only state-recognized postgraduate program in Greece that focuses on Financial Management in the Public Sector. It is designed in such a way that within two semesters it provides the theoretical and practical knowledge covering the entire range of applications of Financial Management in the Public Sector.

The Program is addressed to full-time students.

The students of the Program may be employees of the public or private sector, and/or young graduates, who seek to improve their prospects in the very competitive labor market, and, at the same time, to gain and deepen their knowledge on financial issues, to be able to advance professionally to positions of responsibility in the wider public sector and in general, in any sector (or legal entity), within or from which financial resources are managed.

In particular, graduates of the MSc “Financial Management of Public Organizations and Units” will be ready to cover

(a) the requirements for maximum efficiency in the Financial Management of the Public Sector,

(b) the needs arising from the application of new legal frameworks, and

(c) requirements for making best use of the possibilities of fund-raising for the implementation of public projects.

At the same time, the graduates of the MSc will meet both the substantive and formal requirements for advancement to positions of responsibility of financial departments, related sectors (accounting, procurement departments, fund management, financing, etc.) and bodies in the wider public sector, such as ministries, the General Accounting Office of the State, the Court of Audit, the Independent Authority for Public Revenue and the Tax Offices, in Local Government (municipalities and regions), public hospitals, Higher Education Institutions (economic sectors, Special Accounts for Research Funds), etc.
