Welcome to the site of M.S.c in Banking and Finance!
The MSc in Banking and Finance offered by the Department of Banking and Financial Management at the University of Piraeus, has been designed in such a manner to equip the graduate students with modern knowledge and technical skills in theoretical and practical applications so they will ready enough for a successful career in the realm of finance.
Our program has been designed in such a manner to keep a rational balance between the theoretical and practical aspects of finance. Upon the completion of the program, the graduate students will have managed to acquire a solid background in the domain of the associated fundamental values of finance, as well as the necessary quantitative tools which will allow them to confirm the theoretical mechanisms and approaches. Moreover, the program also offers the necessary practical training in financial markets so the students can get familiarized with the practical mechanisms governing the markets operation through frequent visits in banking institutions, in the stock exchange market, in business firms, as well as through lectures offered by guests coming from the business and banking sectors.
At the same time, the structure of the program provides exceptional assistance for the examinations offered by the CFA organization given that this organization has full recognized that 70-90% of the material offered by the program can fully stand to prepare our students for the required exams; as a result, our graduate students are sufficiently prepared to successfully pass those exams.
The academic staff that teaches in the program is of exceptionally high caliber holding
a PhD degree from US and European universities. All members of the staff are highly recognizable academic professionals with many publications in high-ranking journals, while simultaneously carry high professional experience from dealing with the business and banking sector.
