George Skiadopoulos is a Professor of Finance at the Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus and at the School of Economics and Finance of Queen Mary University of London. He is also Director of the Institute of Finance and Financial Regulation (IFFRwww.iffr.gr ) and an Associate Research Fellow at Cass Business School and Warwick Business School. Research

His research and expertise focus on asset management and pricing, climate finance & ESG, commodities, and financial derivatives. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including Management ScienceJournal of Financial and Quantitative AnalysisJournal of Business and Economic Statistics, and The Accounting Review. He serves on the editorial boards of several well-esteemed finance journals, such as the Journal of Banking and Finance and Journal of Business Finance and Accounting

His research has had a significant policy and industry impact. His paper on climate change risks (with R. Faccini and R. Matin) has been cited in reports by the Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, the OECD, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and has been presented to the European Parliament and European supervisory authorities. His publications on commodities and financial stability have informed regulatory debates and featured in industry consultations.
